It combines restorative dentistry with cosmetic procedures to simultaneously optimize oral function, structural health, and aesthetics.  

Unlike single-tooth procedures, this treatment views the mouth as a singular dynamic system, correcting the bite (occlusion) and the relationship between the jaws. 

When is a Full Mouth Rehabilitation Necessary?

Dentists recommend full mouth rehabilitation when oral health has deteriorated extensively due to: 

  • Severe Tooth Attrition: Advanced wear caused by chronic teeth grinding (bruxism) or erosion.
  • Extensive Damage: Multiple teeth that are broken, cracked, or severely decayed throughout the mouth.
  • Multiple Missing Teeth: Loss of numerous teeth from trauma, neglect, or progressive gum (periodontal) disease.
  • Bite Collapse: A loss of vertical dimension (the distance between the tip of the nose and the chin), which alters facial structure and strains jaw joints.

A Step-by-Step Treatment Plan may include:

  1. Urgent & Control Phase
    • Eliminates active disease, manages infections, and resolves immediate tooth pain.
    • Includes deep cleanings/ scaling (periodontal therapy), extractions of non-salvageable teeth, and temporary fillings. 
  2. Diagnostic & Planning Phase
    • Uses digital X-rays, and physical jaw models.
    • A physical or 3D model of your ideal smile is created to plan the precise shape and height of your new teeth.
  3. Provisional (Temporary) Phase
    • Teeth are prepared, and temporary restorations are fitted according to the new bite height.
